A mid-Victorian parish church off Roscow Avenue on the eastern edge of Bolton, listed Grade II.
History
St James's was built in 1855–6 to designs by the architect W. R. Corson, at a time when Breightmet was still largely open country between Bolton and Bury. The parish has grown up around it since.
Today
The church worships in the mainstream Anglican tradition and has a strong reputation locally as a welcoming congregation, particularly for families with additional needs.
