What we believe and what we value

What we believe directs us in what we say and do. At Deane we want to follow Jesus Christ and base our lives on his word and example, so we look to the Bible which we believe is the greatest blueprint for life, and the best way to know for sure what Jesus said and did.

We draw our values from looking at the life of Jesus....

Honouring and glorifying God - We want to celebrate his goodness, in our lives as individuals and when we gather together

Jesus Christ - We want Him to be at the centre of our personal lives and life as a church

Holy Spirit - We want Him to be our teacher, empowerer and guide

The Bible - Our foundational source of authority. So as a top priority we look for opportunities for relevant Bible teaching and learning.

Prayer - Both personal, and when we gather together, is crucial if we are to be a spiritually growing, community-impacting church.

Welcome

a church where people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities are valued and welcomed

Hope, healing and purpose

A church where anyone can find hope, healing and purpose in Jesus Christ

Love and service

Expressing unconditional love and service to all people, within the church family and beyond.

Sharing the good news

of Jesus Christ with people in the Deane area and supporting those who are seeking to do this elsewhere in Manchester Diocese, and in the wider world.

Encouragement

meeting in large and small, formal and informal gathering to build each other up in the Christian faith through Bible study, prayer and fellowship

Gifts

being a church where every believer is encouraged to use their God-given gifts for the building up of the Body of Christ.
